Another Year, another borken promise? posted on 09/02/2008
Here I am cheering that this may be the year. Yet when those pesky Cubs were up 3 games to 1 on the Marlins during the 2003 year, I thought that was the year. I also thought 1984 was the year for the Cubs against those darn Padres. In 1989, 1998, and 2007 they never got out of the chute in the playoffs. In 1984 it was the Leon Durham's grounder that when through his legs that made me cry like I had lost something in this world. Then BARTMAN started the great downward spiral where the Cubs lost three straight to Marlins who went on to beat the New York Yankees. To this day I still can't stand the Marlins This year I have those same hopes, but there is always that voice in the back of my head that says they are gonna break our Cubbie fan hearts again. Is the UFC monopolizing the MMA market? posted on 09/02/2008
We heard it all. We heard how Dana White bought the defunked Japanese PRIDE orgranization. We saw how Dana White bought the World Fighting Alliance, and now the IFL and then running those organizations in the ground. Dane White is nothing more than an old mobster cornering the market and forcing fighters to fight for the UFC wages and forcing young fighters who are hungry to make it, to sign Contracts that are hidden owner papers. I don't understand other fans of this sport when they say they do not like other organizations such as Elite Xtreme, Strikeforce, and Affliction. The fact is this, the more ograniations the better it is for the fighter. Each organzation can vie for their services for fair and top wages.
