Do the Tennessee Titans really want Albert Haynesworth back in Nashville?

In a time where the economy is down in the dumps, and steroids seem to be in the main stream media, there is another story.  Albert Haynesworth wants to stay in Tennessee.  Why is this so big?  Because he also wants to be the highest paid defensive player in the league.  The real question is, is he worth it?  Haynesworth had 8.5 sacks, 51 tackles, and 3 forced fumbles.  The good news for Haynesworth is, there was only one other interior defensive lineman that had that many sacks.  The bad news is that he is also a Unrestricted Free Agent.

Enter Rocky Bernard.

Rocky Bernard

Rocky Bernard had 55 tackles, 8.5 sacks, and a forced fumble in only 15 games this year.  He was also a member of the Seattle Seahawks.  You know the team that gave the Titans their general manager?  That's right, Mike Reinfeldt has ties to the Seattle Seahawks.  More of a reason for Bernard to consider Tennessee right?  Of course Rocky does want to win, I mean he's had some hard times in Seattle and as sure as Seattle can offer him the price that he wants I'm sure he'll be tempted to look elsewhere for employment.  Rocky, I hear Nashville is great this time of year.

So in between choosing the guy who stomps on players heads and a guy who is just as productive for half the price, you must also look at the bigger picture.  What else do we need?  Besides a Wide Receiver who can catch a ball more then 40 times a year, a glaring weakness for us has been Middle Linebacker.  Is it possible we can see Ray Lewis in Tennessee Titan blue?  How about Dunta Robinson?  Former Texan standout that could replace Nick Harper.  Dunta Robinson is coming off of an injury year, so he will be looking to prove himself.  And a division rival is always a nice start.

Now I'm not saying we can get those three players for the same price as Haynesworth.  But we can sign all three to 3 year deals for a little more then it would cost to get Haynesworth his 6 year deal.  And I have to admit, those three would make it a lot easier to accept Tennessee as the favorites to win the Super Bowl.  Adams and Reinfeldt, I hope you're reading.  And Albert, if you are reading please don't stomp my head

Until next time Flameheads,
