Jacksonville Jaguars

25 December 2008

The team then dominated a displaced looking Jacksonville Jaguars team at home in the first Monday Night game in franchise history.

Still...not overly impressive.

Week 14 came and the Texans flew into frosty Lambeau Field to take on the Green Bay Packers. A Packers team that hasn't played well most of the season, but anytime you play in a historic stadium like Lambeau and in single digit temperatures....it's going to be tough!

Week 13 is in the books as we are getting closer to the playoffs in the National Football League (still 4 weeks away, but with the way this season has flown bye, it won't be long!). Before I begin I want to apologize to my 3 readers for not keeping up with the Fallout Report. I'll have it on time (every Tuesday) from now until the playoffs. With that said, let's see how I did!

he J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets in this game.

Winners - New York Jets

4) Jacksonville Jaguars @ Houston Texans

I bet ESPN is stoked to have this game on Monday Night Football this week. Two disappointing 4-7 teams go at it here. Listening to Houston sports talk radio this past week, the fans are still pumped for the first ever MNF game at Reliant Stadium, but it could have been so much more if the Texans could have performed better up to this point. Reliant should be filled or ESPN and management might think twice about bringing Monday Night Football back to Houston anytime soon. Onto the game, both teams have had some good games against each other. The Jaguars are the Texans only other 'real' rivalry in the AFC South. You could say the Titans since they use to be the Oilers...but the Texans have only defeated them 2-3 times. Forget about the Colts (Texans have only won once against them in their franchise). However the Texans have defeated the Jags 5-6 times in their existence. Both teams can forget about the playoffs this season. So really this game will be all about pride. I think the Texans hosting their first ever MNF game will still be pumped and I think they'll take it to the Jaguars early. I'll be a homer here and take the Texans. Do ESPN proud, Houston.

18 November 2008

Week 11 was one of the more interesting weeks in the NFL this season. A game ended in a 11-10 score for the first time in NFL history, a game ended in a tie and we also saw 'America's Team' get back on track with their star quarterback at the helm. I'll get to that and more as this week's Fallout report kicks off.......riiiiight now!

ore disappointing.

Winners - Indianapolis Colts

2) Tennessee Titans @ Jacksonville Jaguars

The Titans have been the best team in football record wise all year now they take their undefeated record into Jacksonville to take on the 4-5 Jaguars. I've picked the Titans to lose the last two weeks in my yahoo picks, but for some reason my gut is picking them again to lose this week. Now if the Titans win again, I'll have to strangle my gut and put it in a choke hold. A couple of reasons I think the Titans could lose this one: 1) Titans will not go undefeated forever. 2) The Jaguars have had some shaky bumps in the road this season and I think the team will play hard for Coach Del Rio this week against Division opponents Tennessee.

ns, helping the Steelers overcome their offensive woes and leading them to a 26-21 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday night. Roethlisberger finished 26-of-41, rebounding from an interception on his third pass that Rashean Mathis returned 72 yards for a score. Pittsburgh (4-1) snapped a four-game losing streak against Jacksonville. Mewelde Moore, filling in for Parker, ran 17 times for 99 yards.

alk it up.

Winners - Dallas Cowboys

3) Pittsburgh Steelers @ Jacksonville Jaguars

A battle of two teams that met twice last season (one in the regular season/one in the post season) with Jaguars taking both in Pittsburgh. I still remember the regular season game last season between these two with the snow falling, what a game. Fast forward to now and you have a Steelers team banged up. Willie Parker is still out and back-up Rashard Mendenhall is done for the season with a fractured shoulder received against the Ravens. Gary Russell and Najeh Davenport were re-signed by the Steel men to pick up the scraps in the running game with Mewelde Moore starting this Sunday against the Jags. These two teams know each other, that's no secret. I have a gut feeling however that the Steelers will come out on top in this one. I have four reasons. (Yes four!) 1) Just like the Ravens, I think the adrenaline will carry over from Monday Night. 2) Good teams find ways to win with injuries. Steelers are a Super Bowl caliber team by many, this will be a good test. 3) The Houston Texans horrible defense were able to stop Taylor/Jones pretty nicely last week. I think the Steelers review what the Texans did and try to copy it. 4) Three out of the last 4 Sunday Night Games the upset has won. That's right. Every Sunday Night game besides the Packers/Cowboys, the upset team has won. And I have a little superstition in me. I'm picking the Steelers in this one.

uo;s and had a cigar (alright, he isn’t there anymore but that’s not the point)!

Go Jacksonville Jaguars! I am so very impressed with David Garrard and Maurice Jones-Drew. Besides their impressive, spirited performances, I can rationalize rooting for them a few ways. I went to college in the great state of Florida and Maurice Jones-Drew is a California boy that went to UCLA. (And yes, I watched him in college and admired his performance then and even sat the next row over from him at a Los Angeles Lakers game once.) I mean seriously, David Garrard is a class act so how can you not root for him!?

ttempt was no good, the Dolphins answered with their longest drive this season! Yeah Dolphins!

Jacksonville Jaguars!

In a most remarkable feat, the Jacksonville Jaguars beat the Pittsburgh Steelers at home – in the snow! It is no small accomplishment that a Sunshine State team was able to hold off the Steelers under these conditions. This broke the Steelers unbeaten-at-home streak.
