Denver Broncos

10 September 2009

What are the Denver Broncos doing right now?  They are just a joke; they made a good hire; I thought.  Josh McDaniels should be able to turn in into an offensive mastermind.  He's learned from some of the best, and I think he's young and brash enough to make big things happen, but here is my problem.  They are talking contract extension with WR Brandon Marshall?  Really?  This is the same guy that batted down passes on purpose during practice, walked while everybody else jogged/stretched, and then pulled the ultimate douchebag move and punted the ball away from the ballboy.  Wow, because THAT's real tough.  Mr. Marshall makes $2.198 million, and he acts like this.  What a whiner.

So let me get this straight. The Redskins sign Albert Haynesworth to an outrageous 100 million dollar deal. Then they go out and resign Free Agent DeAngelo Hall, and then release DE Jason Taylor. And why, because he didn't want to spend his off season sitting at the Redskins stadium. Why should he spend eight of his thirteen weeks off working? I don't know. But the Skins sure thought he should. The man has three kids and a wife in Florida. As a professional football player I'm sure he doesn't get a lot of time with his family any ways. I just would've thought Jason Taylor would be an asset to that team. He'll find a new home with out a problem though I'm sure.

The Denver Broncos took it to the Jets in this one. You want to talk about a crazy season, Broncos are the perfect example. Numerous injuries to running backs + they have home losses to Oakland and a road loss to the Chiefs, but they have won away at Atlanta and now the Jets. Makes it pretty head scratching to figure out what Broncos team will show up each Sunday this season. Jay Cutler had 357 yards in the game for two touchdowns. Jets with the loss still lead the AFC East. New England and Buffalo both lost as well. Miami being the only AFC East team winning with their win over the Rams.

ith the New York Giants in this contest.

Winners - New York Giants

3) Denver Broncos @ New York Jets

I honestly didn't think the Jets could beat the Patriots and at the time undefeated Titans...back to back. But they proved me wrong. Brett Favre is playing great and the Broncos are 25th in pass defense this season. This has the makings of a 'light-em-up' type of game. Running back Leon Washington has also played good ball for the Jets during the winning streak. Broncos are 27th in run defense. What I'm trying to say is...the Jets could and should have a field day with the Broncos defense. Jets with a win could push their record to an impressive 9-3 in the AFC East division possibly giving them more cushion if the Patriots lose to the Steelers. I'll take the J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets in this game.

“According to Broncos coach Mike Shanahan who admitted Wednesday that the high altitude is a big reason why the Broncos own the best home record in the NFL over the last 30 years. “We’ve got the best record I think at home over the last 30 years and I don’t think it’s because we’ve been the best football team. I do think there’s an advantage from an altitude standpoint. Players that have played here over the years feel that way as well.” ‘• OLB Joey Porter, who went to school at Colorado, is concerned about the altitude. “The altitude is really big. I’ve trained there a lot. I’ll go back to California for a week and come back and it feels like it’s ripping a hole in your chest. It’s definitely going to take some extra conditioning to where you go up in this thin air, you’re going to feel the difference.” Yahoo! Sports Oct 31, 3:46 am EDT’,”

Randy Moss had 2 touchdown receptions for the Pat squad as they roll over and thrash the Denver Broncos. RB Sammy Morris ran for 138 yards and a score. New England was favored, but not by much. Broncos leave New England now having lost 3 of their last 4 games and have to be scratching their heads as they go back to the drawing board. Patriots win their 5th straight Monday Night game in a 41-7 rout of the

Chiefs after coming off a big upset win over the Denver Broncos failed to get anything consistent going all game. Larry Johnson was held to a dismal beyond dismal (did I say dismal?) 2 yards rushing. If your lead back has 2 yards rushing, you're not winning. Unless your back up picks up the slack.
