No matter what center court says, LA still belongs to the Lakers.

Even though both teams share the same home court, after blowing the Clippers out by 38 points, the Lakers proved that the Staples Center is always home.

Kobe Bryant led all scorers with 16 points, and eight rebounds while shooting 5-for-12. However it was Jordan Farmar who really shined with 15 points, and five rebounds and assists. I knew he was going hard when late in the fourth, Luke Walton, four points, threw a high-arcing alley-oop to a cutting Farmar and amazingly, he caught it and threw it down. Simply put, it was salt in the wound after that.

These Lakers are no longer the young bunch that Bryant led into the NBA Playoffs last year. This is a focused group of seasoned  young men that are determined to win. If you don't believe it, go back and look at Sasha Vujacic. The stat sheet does it no justice but the defensive pressure he was still applying late in the fourth was remarkable. The way he and the rest of the Lakers on the floor were playing, one may think the game was close. Even in the closing seconds when the Lakers were up by 38, Vujacic wanted to go up by 40. If Chris Mihm, who had 10 points, would've made the basket after Vujacic passed it to him, the goal would've been fufilled.

Yea, so I playing some Soul Calibur IV last night at around 8:30 when the power went off. I thought to myself, "No biggie, as long as it comes back on before the Lakers' game, I'll be fine. Well to cut a long story short, the power never came back on and so I reluctantly watched Arrested Development until the battery on laptop died.

While I didn't call the point spread, I was 12 points off, I did call the win, and that's all that matters. I read on Yahoo! that Oden only got to play for three plays and then he was out again. That sucks because Portland has to play the Spurs and the Suns next. Those games were set up to showcase Oden, and now we don't know the future effects of his injury.

Hopefully the power shouldn't go out tonight, so I'll be watching the game against the Clippers tonight. Then I can finally give a good report on it.

For those of you reading, you'll have to excuse my lateness on posting so late on our beloved Lakers team.

A little bit about myself: I've been blogging since 11th grade and now I'm looking to do it professionally. I chose to blog about the Lakers because they do have the greatest player in the world on their team ala Kobe Bryant. I'm sure it's been said before, but I'm here to reaffirm and make believers.

I do believe that the Lakers have the potential of going back to the NBA Finals this year and the team is much more battle-tested now. They're playing Portland tonight which will serve as a good test to see how far they've come. Nate McMillian is a genius and tonight, Portland will give LA a run for their money. With guards like Roy, Blake and Fernandez, it's going to prove muy difficil for Farmar and Fisher. But that's where the chemistry will come in.
