Lakers vs. Dallas

I'm actually tired of keeping track how many times I can predict the Lakers winning. I did get it wrong last night, but I can see myself getting really bored with it later on. So rather than bore my audience, if there is one, I'll just say that I expect the Lakers to win all of their games this year. Selfish? Perhaps. Lazy? Right on the money with that one.

I was so glad that the Lakers won last night. A perfect 6-0, just like the Hawks. However, no one really cares about the Hawks because they're not more popular than the Lakers. Everybody looked good last night. I saw the highlights from the game. One thing that I was right about was everybody stepping up on Dallas. Terry, Kidd, and Dampier all had good nights. It was Dirk however, as usual, who let his team down by scoring only 14 points. If Dampier can grab 16 boards, and Kidd can get a Triple-Double, why can't Dirk score 30? Inconsistencies. Oh well, better news for LA.

Ariza finally had a decent shooting night. that guy is a perfect fit for the Lakers. I remember seeing some of his highlights when he was on the Knicks and the Magic and I used to sit back in awe. He reminded me of a collegiate Hakim Warrick. Remember when he dunked on Royal Ivey? Sick. And Jordan Farmar is one of the best back-up point guards in the League! He may not be as strong, but his basketball IQ is through the roof! Did you catch the steal that he performed on Kidd? It took just one split second and Farmar was racing down the other side of the court.

Kobe was Kobe as usual in 4th quarter scoring nine perfect points exactly when his team needed it. And now that Gasol had a year to toughen up at the C position, he has really melded in the PF spot. I think he's averaging close to 12 rebounds per game. Bynum is also coming along. I think that he can do 10 and 10 just about every night. I haven't really gotten to watch Odom play much this season, but judging by the stat sheets, I think that he can step up a little bit more.

Now this may sound radical, but I think that the Lakers are going to have to let Walton go. He really isn't producing for the amount that he's getting paid. I know that he is a hometown favorite, but unless he's willing to take a big salary cut, he has to go. Speaking of go...

I'm out.
