Lakers vs. Nuggets 2008

Well I'm 3/3 in calls so far. I didn't get to watch the game because it came on a Friday night, but I did see the results. I'm not really going to elaborate or comment on the game because that's old news now. What I will speak on is Carmelo cutting those signature cornrows! His hair is crazy nappy! And breaking news about Allen Iverson going to Detroit for Chauncy Billups and Antonio McDyess!!! What is Detroit thinking? It's a good pick-up for the Nuggets who have now become an overnight contender, as it seems to be the theme nowadays. 

Detroit is the more intersting move though. I can understand why Memphis let go Pau Gasol last season, they had his little, but bigger, brother coming through. And after years of being with Pau and nothing coming to fruition except early playoff exits, then it may be time to try something new. However with Detroit, this is a Conference Final team. Billups was arguably, if not, the overall best player on the team. So why would you trade him? My guess is that it has something to do with the cap space. They must be trying to clear enough to bring someone in...and I hope that they're not banking on LeBron James or Dwayne Wade. Detroit is not suitable for those types of teams. James is already flirting with New Jersey, but Wade seems likes he like the Miami beaches more than Detroit's cold winters. However, Chris Bosh is also available during that 09 period, but with the edition of Jermaine O'Neal to the Raptors, I don't think he'll be likely to move. So then what sense would it make to have Allen Iverson and Dwayne Wade on the same team? And I didn't forget about Rasheed Wallace. But there's no way he could be there if Wade was there because of the salary-cap. So what is Detroit's game here? What are they trying to pull? Only time will tell, but I'm gonna love to be here when the plan is finally revealed.
