Lakers 2008: Could This Be The One?

For those of you reading, you'll have to excuse my lateness on posting so late on our beloved Lakers team.

A little bit about myself: I've been blogging since 11th grade and now I'm looking to do it professionally. I chose to blog about the Lakers because they do have the greatest player in the world on their team ala Kobe Bryant. I'm sure it's been said before, but I'm here to reaffirm and make believers.

I do believe that the Lakers have the potential of going back to the NBA Finals this year and the team is much more battle-tested now. They're playing Portland tonight which will serve as a good test to see how far they've come. Nate McMillian is a genius and tonight, Portland will give LA a run for their money. With guards like Roy, Blake and Fernandez, it's going to prove muy difficil for Farmar and Fisher. But that's where the chemistry will come in.

Farmar has emerged as a promising guard for the Lakers, and he is a big contributor towards LA's offense. However, if he is shut down early, his confidence will play an even bigger part in the game.

I'm not really worried about Oden, Aldridge or any other big man they may try to throw at LA. Between Gasol, Bynum, Ariza, and Odom, there's enough mismatches to go around.

Sorry I was so brief today, but I'll break down the games as the season progresses. To make this a little more fun for myself, I'm gonna see how many Laker games I can predict correctly. I can probably get 80% of them right. So for prediction 1 of 82, I say LA by 8. It's gonna come down to Free Throws.

I'm out.
