(Triple-Threat: Dribble)
As predicted, the Lakers beat the Kings last night 118-108.
Although the Lakers did commit 18 turnovers, five of which belonged to Andrew Bynum, they came through with the game on the line. The Kings trailed by as many as 19 points before Bobby Jackson helped put together a 21-6 run. However, when you have the ultimate closer in Bryant, there's never really need to worry. With 6:17 left in the fourth, the Lakers took control and the young Kings' hopes were shot.
“I’m not happy with this win. We could have played much more solid defensively,” Bryant said.
Bryant wasn't the only one who thought the Lakers could've played better.
“I thought we were poor, defensively,” coach Phil Jackson said after watching Sacramento shoot 53.4 percent against his team.

:Sighs:
It seems as if the Lakers are on cloud nine right now. What is LA's MVP guard thinking about. Is he thinking about how they just demolished the Nuggets on Friday? The scoreboard only says that they won by 14, but Carmelo Anthony's FG% exposes the Nuggets. Anthony shot 5-19 including 0-3 from beyond the arc. The Lakers smothered him on defense. They realized that Anthony is Denver's energy. Phil Jackson had this to say about the strategy used:
"We focused on not giving him open opportunities, getting a body on him when he gets the basketball, turning him to the baseline a lot of times and trying to keep him from the middle so he couldn’t penetrate,” Jackson said. “Vlade (Radmanovic) did a good job on him and I thought guys focused on him and knew where he was.”

“We wanted to go inside, and we did,” Lakers coach Phil Jackson said. “We just kept rolling. We had a size advantage.”
64 points in paint? Yea, they had a size advantage but wow! One thing is clear; the Bulls need better interior defenders. The usually soft-looking Gasol had 34 on the night. The Lakers really didn't have to worry because they had too many stars on their side. Kobe only had 21 but looked as if he were out at the Rucker rather than an NBA season game. With behind-the-back passes, fancy dribbling, and his nonchalant attitude, the Lakers easily cruised to a 116-109 win.
Derrick Rose was the only bright spot for the Bulls who scored 25 points and had nine assists on 11-18 shooting. This kid can really shoot the jumper. So now that they have an established guard, the Bulls should look towards getting rid of two or three of their guards on that team. Maybe Hinrich or Gordon. Anyway, back to the Lakers.

Man, I'm still getting acclimated to my new job and the limited internet time that I have.
Not much to say on the Pistons/Lakers game except tough luck. I never really read what happened, but I know that the Pistons built an early 20 pt lead in the 3rd and the Lakers never recovered. I think that it was a match-up problem with Gasol and Wallace. Gasol can't guard Wallace on the outside and I think Wallace knew that. He had 25 points and 13 rebounds and shot 4-9 from beyond the arc. Well, at least Gasol knows what to expect now. I hope that the next match-up shows better results.
Tonight they play the Bulls and I expect a win. The Bulls don't really have and leadership so they should be easy to pick apart. For one, they have no one to guard Kobe Bryant and two, the Lakers have too much height and athleticism to lose this game.

“I just wanted to shoot it in his face,” Bryant said of the late 3-pointer. “I knew I was due.”
Wow. If you've ever wanted to hear determination to win this year, that was it. I'm sold. The Lakers will win the Championship this year. But they haven't even played Boston yet right? Doesn't matter, the simple fact that Kobe knew would be guarding him and the fact that he wanted to hit the shot in his face speaks volumes to me.
Also, another thing that I saw in last night's game was that the Lakers didn't blow the game. I can think of the Lakers who played the Suns in 2006 I think and they were up but they let Tim Thomas hit a three in game 5 to keep hopes alive for the Suns who were down 3-1. These Lakers now however are learning how to close out games. No more disappointments.

I'm actually tired of keeping track how many times I can predict the Lakers winning. I did get it wrong last night, but I can see myself getting really bored with it later on. So rather than bore my audience, if there is one, I'll just say that I expect the Lakers to win all of their games this year. Selfish? Perhaps. Lazy? Right on the money with that one.
I was so glad that the Lakers won last night. A perfect 6-0, just like the Hawks. However, no one really cares about the Hawks because they're not more popular than the Lakers. Everybody looked good last night. I saw the highlights from the game. One thing that I was right about was everybody stepping up on Dallas. Terry, Kidd, and Dampier all had good nights. It was Dirk however, as usual, who let his team down by scoring only 14 points. If Dampier can grab 16 boards, and Kidd can get a Triple-Double, why can't Dirk score 30? Inconsistencies. Oh well, better news for LA.

I just want to apologize because I have no idea what I was talking about in the last post. I think I saw LA Clippers vs. someone else and mistook that for our beloved Lakers. The Lakers are still undefeated at 5-0 after thrashing the Rockets on Sunday night. I personally didn't see the game (again) but I did see the results.
Much has already been said about the Lakers' abundance of talent on the roster, and now their toughness has finally come to fruition. I want to say that they're going to beat Dallas tonight, but I think that they might lose this one. I've decided that I can really only comment on the games that are televised. I don't have the NBA Package so I miss a lot of the games that the Lakers play.
I think they're going 5-1 tonight. The combination of Dirk, Terry, and Kidd facilitating is going to test the Lakers' perimeter defense. We'll see what happens though. I would love to be wrong.

So the Lakers lost last night and I didn't get to watch the game because I didn't have FSN. I heard saw that they lost so that's my first wrong call.
3/4.
I really don't have much to say on a game I didn't see...
I'm out.

Well I'm 3/3 in calls so far. I didn't get to watch the game because it came on a Friday night, but I did see the results. I'm not really going to elaborate or comment on the game because that's old news now. What I will speak on is Carmelo cutting those signature cornrows! His hair is crazy nappy! And breaking news about Allen Iverson going to Detroit for Chauncy Billups and Antonio McDyess!!! What is Detroit thinking? It's a good pick-up for the Nuggets who have now become an overnight contender, as it seems to be the theme nowadays.
Detroit is the more intersting move though. I can understand why Memphis let go Pau Gasol last season, they had his little, but bigger, brother coming through. And after years of being with Pau and nothing coming to fruition except early playoff exits, then it may be time to try something new. However with Detroit, this is a Conference Final team. Billups was arguably, if not, the overall best player on the team. So why would you trade him? My guess is that it has something to do with the cap space. They must be trying to clear enough to bring someone in...and I hope that they're not banking on LeBron James or Dwayne Wade. Detroit is not suitable for those types of teams. James is already flirting with New Jersey, but Wade seems likes he like the Miami beaches more than Detroit's cold winters. However, Chris Bosh is also available during that 09 period, but with the edition of Jermaine O'Neal to the Raptors, I don't think he'll be likely to move. So then what sense would it make to have Allen Iverson and Dwayne Wade on the same team? And I didn't forget about Rasheed Wallace. But there's no way he could be there if Wade was there because of the salary-cap. So what is Detroit's game here? What are they trying to pull? Only time will tell, but I'm gonna love to be here when the plan is finally revealed.
