In Bill I Trust
As I sat on Sunday with my lucky Patriot t-shirt on, I was worried if The New England Patriots would be able to pull it off. I held my breath during the coin toss to have them take the ball in the second half. Really? I thought. But I tried to have faith in the Patriots and most of all in Bill. All week long, Patriot fans watched with baited breath as to what we were going to do without our messiah. When Tom Brady went down in week one, a crack in the souls of Pat fans could be heard throughout New England. However, we are a tough bunch and we remember when Drew Bledsoe went down and a no-name back-up quarter back came in. We were pleasantly surprised when that no-name did well and we celebrated as he continued to do well. We were finally able to hold our heads high. Through all of the recent glory many non-fans forgot the many seasons of shame. The Patriots were on a losing streak much like the Dolphins of today. But we hung in and Tom Brady, our messiah, gave us hope. He made us feel the pride in being a fan. There were no longer snickers at us for being Patriot fans just speculation that we "must have jumped on the band wagon." Is all hope lost because we lost our messiah? I say no! People can say what they want about Belichik, but he knows football and he know how to win. If he has faith in Cassel, then so do I.
