This years Lakers could be one of the best NBA teams of all time. If they can all stay healthy they should run through the tough West and beat the Celtics in the NBA finals. It should be an interesting season. |
Tony McLeod Nov 04, 08 | I'm with you as long as they stay healthy, they got just as good a chance as anyone. Great site by the way! |
Andreas Junjulas Dec 08, 08 | I have seen a team as good as this years Lakers, its this years Boston Celtics..Sorry to say it man but they are the defending NBA champs, they also have a record of 20-2, while the Lakers have the same amount of loses they have only 17 wins, I know what your thinking, they havent played as many games as Boston so they couldn't win as many games as them this is true but it also means they have had less chances to lose as well. Head to Head and the Celtics have already proven they are as good, and probably better than the Lakers. |
Scoty32 Dec 10, 08 | I was actually going to say the exact same things as Andreas. Even further, one can make a serious case that the Celtics are better than they were at the end of June last year. Leon Powe has continued to grow and learn to rotate correctly on the defensive end of the floor. Glenn Davis has added a serious mid range game, and still provides great energy and rebounding off of the bench. Tony Allen is supremely talented and learning to harness his skills each and every game. We know that a vetran point guard will be added, just like last year, and we know that whoever he is can't possibly play as poorly as Sam Cassel. Honestly, all of these things seem like they offset the losses of James Posey and PJ Brown to me, especially when you consider they C's will most likely get sign a veteran forward at some point this season, too. |
