I guess it really shouldn't surprise me very much that Eric Gagne was on the list of players who have used steroids or the fact that the Brewers were dumb enough to give him 10 million dollars. I'm trying to figure out which one is dumber. Now it makes you wonder how many of those saves were steroid induced or even if he should get them at all. Did he struggled last year because he wasn't on them? All questions I guess brewer fans will get to see first hand when he takes the mound for them this year.
Hmm also makes me wonder how many other players actually have taken steroids, but were a little smarter than the ones who got caught. I'm betting the number is pretty high if you ask me. This could explain why some players numbers are up in a contract year and after they get that bonus money and sign it they just tail off and fade away. Seems like a vicious cycle to me. I wonder if Gagne is looking for a punishment from Bud like having to give back some of his money yeah right!
Now I guess at least we now know probably 60-70 percent of the Major League players have used at one time if not more. This is a black cloud that won't leave anytime soon. Baseball made this so I guess in the end they got what they deserved a bunch of muscle bound guys that can play the game because they cheat.
