This is very interesting if you ask me. Why would anyone pay a player to stay retire especially if he can still lead your team into the playoffs? Well, that is exactly what the Green Bay Packers are doing with Brett Favre. They have offered him a 20 million dollar package to basically stay retired and go away. Now isn't that a way to treat a guy who has brought you a championship. I guess loyalty is out the window in this situation.
I will admit that the Packers have handled this very badly and Brett Favre is to blame as much as they are. Most people in Green Bay right now are torn between Favre and the Packers desire to move on with Aaron Rodgers. So, what will Brett Favre do with this latest offer. I think he will turn it down because he wants to play football or he would not be coming back. Favre probably has enough money and does not need this kind of money. If he does show up at camp and declines the offer look for him to get traded.
I do not see the Packers cutting him as they will get nothing for him. Look for the Packers to trade him to someone. They would prefer outside the division or conference. The Jets, Buccaneers, and Vikings are possible options right now for Brett Favre. I guess we will find out real soon what Favre will be doing this coming fall.
