http://lebasketbawl.blogspot.com/2008/03/roy-returns-ends-lakers-streak-

Brandon Roy taped the hell out of his ankle tonight and James Jones came back after missing a month of bodily healing to drop their rival Lakers. This game was absolutely huge for the young Blazers if they have any hopes of turning this season back around and making a push to the playoffs.

We've heard the conspiracy theories about Jones and the winning ways of Portland; well he may have just solidified that one in stone. The Blazers have been awful since he left with a mysteriously injured knee almost 30 days ago. What a welcome back this was for Roy and Jones.

PORTLAND, Ore. - Brandon Roy launched a rally for the Portland Trail Blazers' final 24 games.

http://lebasketbawl.blogspot.com/2008/03/rafer-alston-cleared-of-slasher

Rafer Alston had charges of assault and attempted assault dropped when prosecutors in New York failed to prove he was guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Alston was arrested back in August 2007 after an altercation inside a New York City night club.

The defendant, Wilbert Ashman, went to a hospital the night of the fight on his own accord and was treated for a minor neck injury. Members of the night club recall Ashman leaving the club without an injury which seems to be the major reason for his case to be dropped.

As for Alston, when the hell is this guy going to figure it out? He made the league, dumped the And One tour and has a fabulous life. Why does he continue to involve himself in this ridiculous situations? Ego.

http://lebasketbawl.blogspot.com/2008/03/9-faces-of-kobe-bryant.html

As Kobe Bryant dropped another 50 point performance on the league today I could not help but ponder how great he truly is. Today marked his 22nd game with at least 50 points and he absolutely dominated the Mavericks every time the Lakers needed him too. He is unstoppable.

So during my Sunday pondering session I started to think about the comparisons we hear every so often between Bryant and Michael Jordan. The way he dribbles, the way he fades, the way he points to teammates and the way he shoots all become more Jordan-esque as he ages. One thing that really started to stand out though was all of those damn facial expressions he makes. And actually, I think the facial expressions have started to set Kobe apart, putting him into uncharted territory.

http://lebasketbawl.blogspot.com/2008/03/shoes-of-my-life.html

My basketbal career was nothing to completely brag about but it had it moments! It included a few trips to state tourneys including a 3rd place my junior year in what will stick in my mind as one of the greatest comebacks ever! I also became a favorite of a local sports anchor who gave me a ton of face time for my classic white boy long range shooting ability. You may have heard of the guy since he now sits in as an anchor on ESPN, Dari Nowkhah.

So besides my fun time playing what I truly enjoyed was all the fantastic shoes I was able to wear throughout my years playing. I found photos of most of my favorites although there are still a few out there I was unable to track down.

http://lebasketbawl.blogspot.com/2008/03/andre-3000-and-basketball-eek.h

Another rapper turned wannabe actor! Andre 3000 of the hip hop group Outkast, who has most recently turned to acting rather than rapping, joins Will Ferrell in the non-funny basketball spoof Semi-Pro.

Andre has found himself bit parts in various movies over the past few years including roles in movies such as Idlewild, Four Brothers and Be Cool which all happen to be flops. According to the website Hip Hop Elements, Andre was the worst basketball player in the cast of Semi-Pro which could have added to the worthlessness of the movie.

http://lebasketbawl.blogspot.com/2008/03/return-of-slamball.html

IIIIIITTTT'S back!

Slamball, which was televised on Spike TV for two seasons in 2002-03, is touted as the "first action team sport." A full-contact competition pitting two teams against each other on a court that features four trampolines and basketball-style nets is what you can expect. Former Philadelphia 76ers president Pat Croce will serve as the league's commissioner, with athletes and coaches being trained at Florida-based IMG Academies starting in April. The plan is to feature 64 players and 16 coaches playing in a single-venue season starting in June, with eight franchises playing in U.S. cities next year.

http://lebasketbawl.blogspot.com/2008/03/chinese-cheerleaders-not-wanted

Supposedly the Chinese are huge sports fans, but they can't seem to find it in their hearts to accept cheerleaders. Why not? Are they looking at the same picture I'm looking at? Here are the rest of the pictures.

The smiling young women have come to expect a crowd response as chilly as the winter wind outside. They shimmy to Shakira as spectators stare sullenly, then prance off the court to anemic applause.

http://lebasketbawl.blogspot.com/2008/03/terrelle-pryor-to-play-basketba

There have been some interesting reports out today that Terrelle Pryor could possibly be considering Memphis as his school of choice to play basketball. I know what your thinking!

"Wait, isn't this the #1 high school football prospect?"

"Why on earth would he play basketball when his life is already set in football?"

If you are still confused, let me give you a little more background. Pryor is probably the most hyped high school football recruit I can remember in my entire life. The kid has unbelievable skills as a quarterback and was thought to be heading to Michigan, Ohio State or Penn State to bring one of those programs a national title. Michigan seemed to be the likely choice with Rich Rodriguez taking over the program and implementing the spread offense which Pryor would be perfect for. Sure enough, national letter of intent day rolled around and Pryor had still not made a decision and doesn't seem to be in any sort of rush.

http://lebasketbawl.blogspot.com/2008/03/new-look-new-outlook-and-many-t

Well it has been almost 3 months for Le Basketbawl and we decided it was time to create a new look that could set us apart while giving us a fresh new look.

We will have plenty of new features on the way and a new outlook for the rest of the year. In February alone we saw almost 73,000 page views and hope to at least equal that number in the month of March! (Good luck to us.)

We would love to hear feedback on the new look plus any requests on anything we have done in the past that you would like to see continued or stopped. Being so new to this blogging game, we will always welcome the criticism, and of course the compliments too.

Make sure to subscribe to our feed and definitely feel free to email us at any time.

http://lebasketbawl.blogspot.com/2008/03/interview-brendan-kirsch-coach-

A few days ago we wrote a brief article on the return of Slamball! As you may well remember, Slamball is the high flying, trampoline dominating, basketball/football mix of a sport that you couldn’t help but watch a few years ago on Spike TV. After a 5 year lay off from television and a trip overseas to grow the sport, it returns and is backed by mega-company IMG and led by new commissioner Pat Croce. The league expects big things this time around including a new TV deal in hopes of becoming the “Arena football of the NBA.”

http://lebasketbawl.blogspot.com/2008/03/top-25-nba-basketball-blogs-mar

The rankings are finally complete! We have been looking at a solid way to do this for quite some time now and think we've found a formula that should stick. Of course tweaking is always a part of any ranking system, but we are satisfied with our first edition.

Le Basketbawl's Top 25 NBA Blog Rankings will be released on a monthly basis with updates accordingly. The ranking system was based on 4 factors: the blog's BallHype ranking turned into a score from 1-10 (10 being the highest), the blog's Technorati ranking turned into a score from 1-10 (10 being the highest), the blog's Google PageRank, and the blog's Alexa ranking turned into a score from 1-10 (10 being the highest). If two blogs have equal scores, a tie-breaker was decided based on their Technorati E-Money Value (This table will be posted shortly).
