Could you think of a more perfect fit for the triangle offense than Chris Webber? The guy posts well, passes extremely well, and can knock down the 18 footer. He may be a little older than the Lakers want, and who knows what kind of condition he is in, but this is a player the Lakers truely need to look at to fill the empty space forced by Bynum's knee injury.
Webber doesn't even care if he starts; the man just wants to "fit in." Kobe has wanted a running mate, and even though CWebb probably can't run all that much these days, this would be a great opportunity.
What's really interesting about this proposal are the memories of the Sacramento "Queens" vs. the Lakers during that stretch of years when L.A. still had Shaq. The rivalry between the Kings and Lakers was the best of its time and made the NBA worth watching. Those were also the glory days of Chris Webber and when he turned into that NBA superstar.
Seeing Webber in a Lakers jersey will be somewhat odd if it actually happens, but at this point, I don't see how they have another choice.
