NFL Week 14 Predictions

Week 14 rolls along as Week 13 is officially history. I went 2-2 last week, picking again without any assistance from a Crystal Ball or a Crypt Keeper. Not a great performance by me, but I'm confident that my record will be better this week. So with that said, again without any assistance....let's kick things off with the Texans/Packers!

Overall Record: 20-16
Last Week: 2-2

1) Houston Texans @ Green Bay Packers

The Texans were impressive in their dismauling of the Jaguars on Monday Night Football. Many will put the excuse of the Jags 'mailing it in' (which is probably true), but! A win is a win is a win and for Texans fans...that was nice for a change. The Texans will travel to frigid Lambeau Field to take on Aaron Rodgers and the Packers. Game time temp is suppose to be anywhere from 10-20 degrees. Being from Houston, let me tell you something....When it's 50 outside, I think "hey this is pretty chilly!". I cannot imagine what playing in 15 degree weather feels like. I know some Texans players have prior experience in playing in the cold, but some don't. I think the Texans will get dominated in this one. Packers are going to be playing like it's a nice sunny day while the Texans are like the icicles along the bottom of the roof, just waiting until it gets warmer to melt away. With that said, Green Bay, Green Bay, Green Bay......unfortunately for Texans fans.

Winners - Green Bay Packers

2) New York Jets @ San Francisco 49ers

The Jets were surprised at home by the Denver Broncos last Sunday. This week they fly into San Francisco to take on the 4-8 49ers. Jets are 0-2 in the West Coast this season (losses against San Diego and Oakland). I however have a feeling that Brett Favre and company will bounce back after last week. The AFC East is still up for grabs and I believe that the Jets will hang on to sole possession of first. The 49ers are not a good football team. So I'll go with the J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets in this one. Ring it up.

Winners - New York Jets

3) Dallas Cowboys @ Pittsburgh Steelers

One of the marquee games on the slate this week. The Dallas Cowboys need to win this game to stay alive in the NFC Playoff picture. It won't be easy though as they'll play the Steelers in cold Pittsburgh without lead RB Marion Barber due to injury. On paper, the Steelers have the advantage in this game, but I'm going to go with the Cowboys in this one. This game is a must for Tony Romo and company. Every game is huge for the Cowboys from here on out and I think they'll have something to say when the season ends.

Winners - Dallas Cowboys

4) Washington Redskins @ Baltimore Ravens

The 7-5 Washington Redskins will take on the 8-4 Baltimore Ravens in Baltimore in this Sunday Night match-up. This is a big game for both teams. The Redskins' playoff hopes will take a big hit with another loss and the Ravens are still hunting for a AFC playoff bid and with a Pittsburgh loss, the two teams will be virtually tied in the AFC North. So big stakes on the table in this one. The Ravens have played better at home than on the road this season. This is a team that started out red-hot, but has cooled down as of late. I'll go with my gut and pick Baltimore in this one at home. Joe Flacco and company have played well this season.

Winners - Baltimore Ravens
