It's free and easy to sign up for a Google AdSense account. Google will provide high quality text-links on your blog and profile pages and you will get paid every time someone clicks on one of the ads.
To sign up for an account click here: Sign up for Google AdSense.
Fill out all the information on this form. Your website URL will be your profile page on our sports site. NOTE: You must create an account on one of our sports sites as that account will be your URL. It will be something like this: http://www.nbabasketballonline.com/youname (although you can join any number of our sites so the domain name may be different if you've joined another site).
Once you've submitted your application to Google AdSense it usually takes 24 hours for them to approve your new account. So in the meantime go ahead and write a few blog entries and once you've been approved come back to this page and complete the final steps below.
Once you've created an account with Google and been approved you can log in here: https://www.google.com/adsense/login/en_US/?destination=%2Fadsense%2Fhome
Once you've logged in to Google AdSense all you need to do is input your Publisher ID in to the "Simple Banner Upload" tool (Note: You must be logged in to use this tool!). You can find your Publisher ID in the upper right hand corner when you log into Google AdSense. It will look something like this: "pub-2324299351234567".
Once you have your Google Pub-Id log into your sports site account and click on the "Revenue Share" link at the top of the page (you must be logged in to see the "Revenue Share" link). Then click on the "Simple Upload Tool" link in the middle of the page. You will see a form where you paste in your Google Pub-ID. Once this is done your Google Ads will appear on your profile page and all you blog posts. To verify that your account is set up correctly wait 24 hours and then log into your Google AdSense account. You should see at least a few impressions (meaning your ads were shown) for your account and with a modest amount of steady traffic you should start to see some clicks, too.
You can also upload custom ad units using our "Revenue Share" tools, so have a look at them when you get a chance (the link is always at the top of this page but you must be logged in to see the "Revenue Share" link).
If you have any questions of comments please let us know. If something is too confusing or too technical for you, we'll be happy to upload the banners for you. You just need to create your Google AdSense account and email us your username and password so that we can log into your account and grab your publisher id.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Never, ever, ever click on your own links thinking this will boast your earnings. Google has advanced techniques which will NOT count multiple clicks by the same user, and if they see a pattern of abuse they will cancel your account. In fact, you should NOT tell your friends and family that you earn money by people clicking on your banners because they often mistakenly think that by clicking on the ads repeatedly they will be helping you out, when in fact all they'll do is get your account cancelled.
