"I haven't really been attacking, so I'm going to start attacking on the block," Bynum, a 7-foot center, explained after the Lakers' practice Sunday. "I haven't scored much off the block. ... I'm just not being aggressive. I need to assert myself on the block. I haven't done anything like that.
"I don't think I've scored on a post move this season. I think everything's been off screen-and-rolls and catching it high and finishing high (off lob passes), so I'm going to be more aggressive."
Brown's aggression led to 10points and 10 rebounds, helping his new team, the Detroit Pistons, to a comfortable victory over his old team, the Lakers. The 6-foot-11 Brown made four of five shots and also had three assists in 28 minutes.
Bynum countered with eight points, nine rebounds and four assists.
He took only seven shots, making three, in 31 minutes during the Lakers' first loss after seven consecutive victories to start the season.
"It was fun," Bynum said of playing against Brown, who was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies in the deal that brought Pau Gasol to the Lakers last Feb. 1. "We talked a lot on the court. Other than that, it was just another game."
Brown signed with the Pistons as a free agent during the offseason.
The Lakers started by shooting only 4 for 15 and were a lackluster 40 for 95 (42.1 percent) by game's end.
