2008 Legg Mason Tennis Classic -- Where the Heavy Hitters Play

If you live in the Washington DC area and love the game of tennis, you won't want to miss this year's Legg Mason Tennis Tournament, which is being held at the Fitzgerald Tennis Center in Rock Creek Park, August 9 - 17. This event is in its 40th year and is a warm-up tournament for the US Open. This ATP Tour event is part of the US Open Series and attracts some top ten players who are fine-tuning their game for the US Open. This year's players include defending champion, Andy Roddick, who has won this event three times and is looking for a fourth win; Marat Safin, Tommy Haas, Juan Carlos Ferrero, John Isner, Marty Fish, Donald Young, Feliciano Lopez, and Sebastian Grosjean. This tournament is not only about tennis, there's something for everyone at this event. See below for a list of events. 

Kids Day - Saturday, August 9

Kids 12 and under can enjoy professional tennis and interactive games all for free!  Tickets can be obtained on site at the tournament box office. 

National Parks Recreation Family Day hosted by SportsTalk 980 - Sunday, August 10

Valspar Paint Performance Challenge - Sunday, August 10

The 2nd Annual Valspar Paint Performance Challenge will be held at eight Olympus US Open Series tournaments this summer and will encourage fans to test their accuracy skills for a chance to win a trip to Arthur Ashe Kids' Day at the US Open.
